Part I notes: I gotta get the theoretical stuff out of the way first, then we’ll journey through the fantastic world of couplings one step at a time. My hope is that the fantastic world of couplings (this series) will live up to the sweetness of the blog title. Just try imagining how sweet that would taste (the syrup I mean). *lame* ^^;
Before the Journey Begins…
As a fan that appreciates not only the musical talents of H!P, but also the frienships among H!P, I can’t take for granted anything that the company has to offer me. I find what I can, buy what I can, and get what I can. When I listen to a concert recording, I blow up the volume and anticipate each performance. I often revisit the same file in my archive a couple of times before the DVD is released. When a PV is out, I begin my meticulous routine. First, I watch it through while remembering everything that stood out to me. Second, I go back and replay what I thought were the highlights of the PV. Then the third time around, I try to focus on the parts I didn’t replay (to make sure that I didn’t miss anything special).
In short, I’m naturally observant. I enjoy thinking while observing, so when it comes to music groups like Morning Musume, nothing appears more attractive to my eyes than the beauty of growing friendships. You witness the growth starting from day one. That’s pretty fascinating, at least to me.
Introducing the Tour
What I’m trying to accomplish throughout this series is not to force you into the coupling bandwagon, but to shine some light on the simple joy of watching couplings form and develop. For me, there’s really no interest in homosexuality involved… You wouldn’t find me fangirling over the Nissy and Hidaka kiss or the Aya and Miki kiss because frankly, I’m not so fond of that stuff. On the surface, the former was pure entertainment and the latter a clever marketing strategy, but I would never get into it. But, if you want cute warm and fuzzies, I think I have exactly what you’re looking for. I’m crossing my fingers.
A Couple of Precautions
So…even though I am not so sure which pairs we’re going to encounter yet, one thing I can assure you is that I won’t leave out any of my past and present favorite couplings. Lastly, most, if not all, couplings will be female. Again, it’s just my preference. There’s a fine line between male and female couplings that just makes me adore the latter so much more. :p

A very, very special pair.
This is going to be very interesting – I also love observing the friendships H!P girls have. I just don’t know so much about them as I rarely watch anything besides PVs, making ofs (but haven’t seen quite all yet), concerts and subtitled videos (like Utaban and stuff, but they are often quite old unfortunately :() and also I’m not much of an observer. But I’m really looking forward to reading your series!
I didn’t even know that Yurina and Momo are good friends… :) I’m sure you’re going to educate me even more as this series goes on.
