Momoko x Yurina = my first favorite coupling, like the first one ever in H!P. It all started with ONE scene from a Special Generation performance (2:09) – something about Yuri’s smile, which made me think, “Momo was smiling, too, right?” lol I’ve always wondered about small things like that. While they’re not as popular as other Berryz Kobo couplings simply because they don’t have as much screentime together, they’re definitely something. Not at all a fictional pair.
I tried to get into their heads, and that was an interesting try. At first, it was just Robin (from H!O) and I attempting to create a new (and as accurate as possible) relationship chart for Berryz Kobo. The process began with us trying to read the their minds, but as you can probably tell, we never finished the chart. ^^; What we did accomplish is defining the friendship of Momo and Yuri, and how one thinks of the other.
So they’re like…playmates, at least that’s what Yuri thinks of Momo in my thought process. No, wait! That’s what Yuri thinks of everyone. The key point is, Momo in Yuri’s eyes is just another playmate. Who needs another BFF when you’ve got Maasa…? Kidding kidding. But apparently, there’s a LOT more going on in Momo’s head. Unlike Yuri, who just enjoys goofing off with Momo, Momo tries to act oneechanppoi around Yuri. Yuri, being the tennen/natural type that she is, probably hasn’t figured out a single thing yet..lol. Knowing Momo who does possess a mature side, when called childish by the rest of Berryz, she will go ahead and reveal her maturity.
So tie that in with today’s topic. You’ll find an “interesting” coupling. This is what fascinates me: The intimacy of friendship’s there; it exists. Momo is aware and on the way to further develop the friendship, but Yuri just wants to play is fine with where the friendship is. Hopefully, she might dig it up someday from the piles of desire in her unconscious mind. Other reasons to love? They’re CUTE. They laugh funny. And Momo always looks at Yuri with gentle eyes, which makes it a thousand times more cuter than anyone looking at anyone else with gentle eyes because of their great difference in height.

I’ve not spent too much time in the world of BK, so maybe it’s just down to ignorance, but this was never a friendship/pairing that I ever thought about.
